A Barflies Lament. - Google Docs: "A Barflies Lament
By Curly Barfly
When Baz lost his best mate
Nearly three years to the day
His room changed forever
The outlook was grey.
Nearly going insane
He yearned for tomorrow
To lessen the pain
And reduce his sorrow.
Then out of the blue
He found a new mate
Who at first instance
Seemed so second rate.
He knew she was pre-loved
And already been used
But forever their fate
Would always be fused.
She was small with one star
But he loved that poor dear
She was there in his hour
And gave him cold beer.
He disposed of her today
After she went in the heat
As she started to smell
Like putrefied meat.
An all Australian model
She was truly ridgy didge
He’ll miss the dull humming
Of his old stubby fridge."
